News and Updates

December 4, 2007

Winter is here, and things are as busy as ever at the shop. There are some notable items and ideas we need to pass along.

These days, we no longer have regular shop hours. All tattoo sessions and consultations are by appointment only, so call ahead or use e-mail to set up your consult times.

New Tshirts are still in the works. We're lazy like that.

Hell or high water, we are going to do some refurbishment and re-design of the shop interior this winter. Just you wait.

X-mas gift certificates are available. Just ask.

Happy Holidays and a good New Year to you all!

Love you long time, G.I., sooo long time.

Summer is in full swing, and we are all very busy here at the shop and and on the home front as well. Currently, we are having the good folks from the "City Show" on CityTV into the shop talk to us about our art form and what's going on in our studio. It should be airing soon, and we'll keep you posted as to when.

Sean's going to be out of the shop between the 22nd July through the 4th Aug. Going to B.C. to SHRED up the mountains. This year, no training wheels.

We have recently brought in some new varieties of pigment and some new equipment and we are very happy with the results. The R+D going into tattoo supplies these days is truly revolutionizing the trade.

Our planned reno's of the shop have been put off for a while. We have been too busy. Look for some big changes in the early autumn though.

Rumour has it that Sean and Heath are both planning to get some hot new work done by "mystery" artists this summer. Ask them in person, maybe they'll talk...maybe not.

Dave is booked solid until like... 2010... ok, ok it's not that bad, but he's a busy motherfucker, so we plan to have him cloned.

ALERT!!! We promise... faithful Pagans... New T-Shirts are coming before the summer is over... I swear... on my dead cat.

So when you update the news page only twice a year... a whole lot of stuff piles up.

In July of 2006 Sean went to Nova Scotia and did the pilgrimage to Sailor Jerry Swallow's tattoo shop in New Glasgow and got some ink from the master himself. It was a memorable experience and Sean is hoping to make it back there for another piece this year or next.

Heath had another successful show of his art and continues to be a very prolific dude, and he's tattooing some sweet stuff too.

Dave is, well, Dave... and he continues to be very busy with raising his grommets, however he made it down to Mexico for the holiday season and soaked up some inspiration from the art and culture there.

The shop is going to get some more facelifting this winter/spring, chiefly, we are pulling down the flash from the walls and replacing it with some larger pieces of art. We have not done anything off of the flash for years anyways so it seems fitting to retire it to a folder for reference.

We are officially running as an APPOINTMENT ONLY studio now, so our studio hours are very irregular. Call for a consultation. As of January 01 2007, we have raised our hourly rate to $140.00/hour CDN. Day sessions (4-5 hours) are still $500.00 bux. More info on all that stuff will be updated on the "How we work" page in very short order.

Weekend bookings are full for a few months and weekdays are filling up as spring approaches.

Hope you all have a wicked-bitching 2007.

See u soon, Sean and the Pagans.

June 27, 2006

As you can clearly see, I have not been very forthcoming with regular news updates. Alas, here's some new info: Bookings are very tight these days. Unfortunately dear friends, you may have to wait as long as 4 months to get weekend dates, but there is a cancellation / first-call list in the works.

We are busier than ever and our focus continues to tighten on strictly custom tattooing that we feel will expand our style and feed our souls. So, if you're planning to call us up to ink up that Taz or that skinny armband........well, let's just say that we'll likely try to talk you into something else.......much bigger and alot fucking tastier.

Our plans for the autumn include giving the shop-space a little face-lift, and by that time we will most likely be operating on a "By appointment only" basis. ('cause there's no point having open-door hours if we're no longer doing walk-ins). Some new Gallery content has been posted and more is on the way. Stay tuned!!

Also, sometime in the late autumn or perhaps in the new year we will be looking at changing the hourly rate / pricing to put us in line with the rest of the Edmonton market, but we'll still be as reasonable about it as ever. Have no fear.

Some other news:

- Dave is a father again.....he and the wife dropped another grommet back in February. Ask him for details when you see him.

- Sean is now on regular day passes from the Nervous Hospital and is feeling much better. He is out and about on his bike, look for him in the valley or at Rabbit Hill.

- Lars is off on another expedition to the Micronesian archipelego to look for groove-fanged mud snakes. He should be back in September.

- Heath has been busy... and as a result he has got some more gallery bookings, including a current gig as part of the Edmonton Works festival at the venue in the ex-Concrete bldg. downtown.

Keep it real, keep the rubber side down.

Sean and the Pagans.

November 29, 2005

Well it seems as winter is really finally here and the snow is coming down as I write this update. We have been super busy since the convention here in September and we've hardly caught our collective breath. Weekend (friday/saturday) appointment times are quickly evaporating and we are booking some dates up as far as March and April 2006. Updates and additions to the gallery photos will be coming soon.

With the Holiday season upon us... ahem... well, just a reminder that we have gift certificates available and there are still some of the 2005 double sided shop T-shirts (all sizes) at only $20.00 each. All the best for the Yuletide, stay tuned...

No, your eyes are not fooling you. This is the brand spanking new Pagan Tatu website. It's got all new updated tattoo galleries as well as a bunch of updated shop info. There's going to be a Tattoo convention here in Edmonton this September and we're going to be there. So make sure you stop by the booth and say hi!

August 23, 2005

Because so many have asked, we have finally got around to making a run of new T-shirts. They're in and they look very cool....but we're not selling them until the labour day weekend at the tattoo convention. There is a chance we may be doing a run of hoodies and long-sleeves this fall, (just for the faithful Pagans) if enough people want to pre-order. There is also a rumour, true believers, that stickers are also on the way. You will have to ask nicely.

Remember the Hot-Rod Coffin from the lobby last year? Well it's for sale....so if you've got $500.00 or can make me a cool offer, call Sean at the shop. ( I will consider trades for freeride-bike parts.)

August 22, 2005

Saturday bookings are starting to fill up right until the X-mas season, so if you want to get in this fall..... bust a move.

Check out this cool shit....the urban art thing is very happening in E-town right now. This is worth a look.
